The Flying Camera - photographs by Scott Davis
 Portrait Pricing Schedule

I work with film cameras because I prefer the look and texture that film provides, especially for black-and-white images. It requires me to be directly engaged in every step of the image-making process and it allows for the "hand of the artist" to be more present in every print.

Sitting Fees:

One hour in the studio. Have the experience of being photographed like one of Richard Avedon's fashion models in 1950's Vogue! Light retouching included (blemishes, stray hairs, small scars/moles). Color or black-and-white images are available, and prints are available in archival pigment ink or black-and-white silver gelatin.
An on-location supplement of $100 plus $100/hour on-site per hour after the first is available.

Archival Pigment Ink: prints are on the regular schedule are available up to 16x20. Larger sizes are available on a custom order basis - please ask for a quote. Printed on heavy weight fiber paper using Epson Ultrachrome inks for rich color and long-term stability. The same degree of care and craftsmanship goes in to each pigment print that goes in to my silver gelatin prints.

Silver-Gelatin: the superior option for black-and-white prints, these are hand-crafted by me in my darkroom. Each print takes roughly a full day to craft, from base exposure and manipulation through chemical processing to the final archival washing treatment and toning. Silver-gelatin prints have a richness of tone and snappy contrast that sets them apart. All prints are processed to archival standards.
